The Glenlivet Distillery is where it all began. Since 1824, we’ve produced exceptional single malt scotch whisky at our home in Speyside and welcomed visitors from around the world to see how every bottle is brought to life.
Our Distillery tours offer a range of experiences. And we’re proud to share that they’ve consistently won awards at the World Travel Awards, including Europe’s Leading Distillery Tour 2024, Scotland’s Leading Whisky Distillery Tour 2024 (for the second year in a row) and Gold for Green Tourism Awards.
In celebration of the 200 year anniversary of The Glenlivet, our Distillery Home is hosting a number of new tours and tastings. Don’t miss the chance to experience how our whisky is made, plus exclusive looks behind the scenes and limited edition tastings.
Read on to learn more about our award winning tours – and whilst you’re here, make sure to check out our award winning whiskies too.
The Original Tour
Two time winner of the World’s Leading Whisk(ey) Tour, The Glenlivet Distillery is not to be missed. And this original immersive experience is a great place to start.
Step into our Speyside Room to uncover how The Glenlivet became the original Speyside Single Malt Whisky. On this introductory tour, you’ll meet key individuals who make The Glenlivet what it is, from local farmers to those in charge of our collection of casks. They’ll also be a visual experience within our Process Room followed by a walk through the distillery and Warehouse 1.
Following the tour, you’ll be invited to sample two different expressions from our core range and a Distillery Exclusive edition.
The Visionary
This new tour opens the doors to our recently launched (and previously unseen by the public) Still House, home to our most exciting innovations.
Much like our founder George Smith, The Glenlivet remains a visionary brand, not afraid to break tradition. Join us as we share how our technology and ground-breaking ideas are still leading the way in the world of whisky today.
You’ll witness our forward-thinking solutions to creating a sustainable, modern distillery before an invitation to taste three expressions of The Glenlivet.
The Reflection
The Glenlivet’s 200 year history is a complex journey from ancient distillation to modern maturation. In this storytelling tour, you’ll walk in the footsteps of our founder, George Smith, on a visit to our Minmore Store House.
Locked away for over ten years, this traditional warehouse shares a look into the rich history of the distillery. Listen, learn and partake in a once in a lifetime chance to sample one of our rare whiskies straight from the cask, as well as a hand-selected tasting in one of our private tasting rooms.
2024 Single Casks
For those who wish to taste the best of The Glenlivet, this tour is a must experience. Join our distillery team for a tutored nosing and tasting session of our exclusive Distillery Reserve Collection Range.
You’ll be guided through the importance of aroma, flavour and cask selection, before having the rare opportunity to sample four expressions side by side. Compare and contrast each bottle’s individual notes, created from the unique character of each cask.
The Generations
For generations, The Glenlivet’s whisky makers have pushed the boundaries of flavour and broken traditions. In this behind the scenes tour, The Glenlivet Distillery invites you into their world, with an exclusive tasting of some of our oldest and rarest whiskies.
Learn how these unique expressions gain their deep, complex flavours. And how their makers refine and refine flavour to create new dimensions of taste. This carefully crafted tasting includes samples of our whiskies up to forty years old.
See all our available experiences and buy tickets online at The Glenlivet Distillery. You can also embark on a first of its kind virtual tour to witness the magic of The Original Speyside Single Malt from the comfort of your home.
