Morning Glory Fizz

A fresh and fruity take on the classic whisky cocktail, Morning Glory Fizz. This summery, brunch cocktail is a lengthy, fun, elaborate drink, with a boozy hit. As stone fruit is a prominent tasting note in The Glenlivet Captain’s Reserve, we're putting this flavour in the spotlight.

Perfect for both beginner and seasoned cocktail drinkers, you can flex the recipe to suit your tastes or swap out hard-to-find ingredients and enjoy the delicious drink all the same (specifically, absinthe and peach eau de vie can be polarising and hard-to-find, respectively).

History of the Morning Glory Fizz

The Morning Glory Fizz is an original brunch cocktail. It’s considered to be a fruity and rejuvenating pick-me-up, or a ‘tonic and nerve quieter’ according to O.H Byron who first mentions the recipe in 1884 in The Modern Bartender’s Guide.

Go vegan

The egg white in a Morning Glory Fizz can be replaced with vegan alternatives such as aquafaba to get the same signature frothy layer.
