Race Day's Liquid Gold
“African Luxury: Precious Metals” was the theme for this year’s Sun Met celebrated with G.H. Mumm and JazzTown brought THE “Liquid Gold”.
The Glenlivet JazzTown might have come and gone, but the event was as definitive as THE Speyside single malt itself. The sound of galloping thoroughbreds blended with the smooth rhythms of the Soweto String Quartet, Lira and MiCasa. Guests were swathed in African Luxury and as they arrived, each pair received their own bottle of The Glenlivet 12-Year-Old. As delectable canapes made their way across the room, guests got to relax and socialise amongst the tasteful décor. Race enthusiasts were applauding track-side as Drakenstein Stud’s Oh Susanna won the day.
Fashion favourites pulled out all the stops, even our own Guardian Henry Williams, was dressed in a chic terracotta suit. He was surprised with two private tastings and his own VIP section. As time passed, the electric energy of jazz transported guests to the dancefloor for the rest of the definitive night.
